A geographically dispersed college is implementing an IM system to facilitate college administration communications. The system is for administrators only not faculty or general staff or students.
This question was posed by the IT group for a college. After consultation with Legal Affairs the Public Records Office, IM or instant messaging systems are meant to be a means of informal communications and NOT a channel for conducting official university business.
