The International Monetary Fund Data database has exchange rates for many countries' currencies going back as far as the 1920s in some cases with monthly, quarterly, or annual data, easily downloadable. You could also explore the website of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System which lists a more limited number of countries' data, but includes daily rates as well as nominal and real indices, though there are no good downloading options.
