The NetAdvantage database has a People section that includes a short paragraph of background biographical information on major executives. Mergent Online also has an Executives tab in each company profile which includes similar information, generally including educational background and insider holdings. One other database that might have really excellent information is called Leadership Connect and as well as short bios, it will allow you to follow how an executive is connected to other leaders in business, nonprofits, or government.
